This morning at 1031 hours; units from Companies 66 (Lancaster Twp), 68 (West Lancaster), and 67 were alerted to the 600 block of South West End Avenue for an apartment building on fire. Tower 67 staffed with four was the first arriving unit. The interior crew found an apartment charged with smoke with a small fire in the bedroom, which was quickly knocked down with a water can. The interior crew found no extension and controlled the utilities and completed the primary search of the apartment. The exterior crew threw ground ladders, vented the fire apartment window, and made the roof. The crew of Tower 67worked the scene for about 50 minutes before being released. Not long after clearing that assignment units from 23 (East Petersburg), 211 (Southern Manheim Twp), 26 (Manheim), 27 (Neffsville), 719 (Hempfield), 24 (Eden) and 67 were alerted for a building on fire in the 2000 block of Miller Road in East Petersburg Boro. Tower 67 made the response with four and was the first arriving special service. The crew made the second floor with an electrical odor. Crews checked the entire building along with the exterior and were unable to locate the source of the odor. The power was isolated to the building and was turned over to maintenance to investigate. Engine 671 also responded on the incident with a staffing of six, the crew was staged. All units cleared the scene within 50 minutes.
