During the lunch hour, Engine 671 and Tower 67 proceed to the training center for some afternoon training. Then during the afternoon Engine 671 was special requested to assist Company 27 (Neffsville) with an apartment building fire on Petersburg Road. First arriving units found the fire to be out, Engine 671 which was the second arriving engine company and was advised to take a hold. With the fire being out and no extension the assignment was downgraded and Engine 671 was released from the scene. During the evening Engine 671 traveled to the Rita’s outside of Mountville to support a fundraiser for 715 (Mountville). While there units from 715, 68 (West Lancaster), 65 (Millersville), and 67 were alerted for a fire alarm at a nursing home. Tower 67 and Engine 671 made the response with a total staffing of 10. Tower 67 was directed to side alpha and to hold its crew, while Engine 671 stood by at the hydrant and assisted 715 with checking the building. The crew found a faulty detector and the assignment was cleared out. To finish out the evening, Engine 671 handled a spill control in the first due.
