During the afternoon, Engine 671 was alerted to assist Company 68 (West Lancaster) with a crash with injuries. Engine 671 arrived first and was directed by Command to stabilize the one vehicle and deploy a suppression line due to confinement in the one vehicle. The crew stood by until the arrival of Rescue Squad 68 to perform the door pop, once the door pop was complete and the patient was in the care of EMS. Engine 671 was released from the scene. About an hour later, Company 67 was alerted to a local nursing home for a fire alarm. Engine 671 and Tower 67 arrived and found a grease fire that was extinguished by the sprinkler system. The crews found no extension and that maintenance was taking care of securing the sprinkler system and the units from 67 cleared. As Engine 671 was clearing, they were alerted to Route 30 at Rohrerstown Road with units from 211 (Southern Manheim Twp) and 23 (East Petersburg) for a crash with entrapment. Medic 772 arrived and confirmed no injuries or entrapment but the need for fire department for hazard control. Engine 671 arrived and controlled the hazards and cleared shortly. The last run of the day came in during the evening with units from 67, 68, 211, 66 (Lancaster Twp), and 76 (West Hempfield) for a gas leak in a local nursing home. Engine 671 arrived and found an active leak at a gas main on the exterior of the building. The crew deployed a suppression line and secured the leak. The assignment was held to 67, 68, and 66 for monitoring purposes with all units clearing in 30 minutes.
