The morning started out at 1027 hours with area units being units from 67, 715 (Mountville), 68 (West Lancaster), 76 (West Hempfield), 66 (Lancaster Twp), 24 (Eden), 84 (Susquehanna #4), and 65 (Millersville) being sent to the 400 block of Richardson Drive for a building on fire. Engine 671, Tower 67, Chief 67 (Dommel) and Lt 671 (Horn) made the response with nine with reports of multiple calls reporting a working fire. Company 67 arrived with smoke showing on side Delta and requesting the Working Fire Dispatch, which added Engine 672, Engine 653, Engine 662, Rescue Squad 23, and Quint 23 (East Petersburg). The crews from 67 made entry with a moderate smoke condition and found the fire to be isolated to the oven. The crew of Engine 715 assisted with clearing the building of employees and Rescue Squad 84 assisted Truck 24 with roof operations. Additional units were staged and were given various tasks on the fireground until the assignment was placed under control with Command holding the units from 67 and 66 for clean up. All units cleared the scene in one hour. As the units from 67 were returning to the firehouse, Tower 67 was alerted to 2100 block of Columbia Avenue assist Company 68 with a fire alarm. Engine 671, Engine 672, Tower 67, Chief 67, and Lt 671 made the response with a total staffing of 12 and arrived with Engine 681 to find normal conditions from the exterior. The crews found a faulty activation on the second floor and the assignment was cleared out. To finish out the day, Engine 671 and Tower 67 responded to the 1700 block of Marietta Avenue for a fire alarm.
