End of Month Brings 5 Runs to the 67 House
   Columbia Avenue Assignment
Wednesday, June 30, 2010
-
The day started off just before lunch time with units from Companies 68 (West Lancaster), 66 (Lancaster Twp), 65 (Millersville), 211 (Southern Manheim Twp), 84 (Susquehanna #4), and 67 being sent to the 1700 block of Columbia Avenue for a building on fire. Tower 67 staffed with four leaving a second crew in the firehouse, arrived on scene to find normal conditions. The crew found a grease fire that was extinguished and checked for extension with none being found. The assignment was downgraded to Engine 681 and Tower 67 for ventilation and clean up with all units clearing in 20 minutes. Then not long after clearing, Engine 671 and Tower 67 were alerted to assist Company 211 with a fire alarm on West Roseville Road. Engine 671 and Tower 67 staffed with 10 arrived first with normal conditions and found a faulty activation. The scene was turned over to Company 211 on their arrival with all units clearing shortly. The company also ran two investigations for the day and a Tower assist to Company 715 for a fire alarm with the Tower being placed available prior to their arrival.
