With nearly 18+ inches of snow already on the ground, Engine 671 was alerted to assist Company 68 (West Lancaster) with a crash involving a bus and tractor trailer on Columbia Avenue. Engine 671 arrived with Rescue Squad 68 to find a minor accident with Engine 671 clearing the scene in 4 minutes. Before Engine 671 was back in the firehouse, they were added to assist Company 68 with a person struck on Millersville Road near Stone Mill Road. Engine 671 was placed available during their response with Rescue Squad 68 being able to handle. Also during the morning hours, Tower 67 and Captain 672 (Zahm) handled a public service call. During lunch time; Companies 67, 715 (Mountville), and 76 (West Hempfield) were alerted to Madge Drive for a gas leak. Engine 671, Tower 67, Chief 67 (Dommel), and Captain 672 staffed with 11 arrived to find normal conditions. The crews from 67 found a propane leak and secured the leak that created high CO levels in the structure. The crews from 67 ventilated the structure and turned the property back over to the homeowner once the CO levels were within acceptable range. Units from 67 worked the scene for about one hour before clearing. As Engine 671 was backing into the firehouse, they were alerted to assist Company 23 (East Petersburg) with a crash with injuries on Route 72 at Miller Road. Engine 671 was placed available during their response with Command reporting a minor accident.
