Friday evening around 1800 hours; units from 67, 68 (West Lancaster), 76 (West Hempfield), and 65 (Millersville) were alerted to Trailer Village for a chimney fire. Engine 671 and Truck 67R staffed with seven arrived with normal conditions and upon investigation found a furnace malfunction. The assignment was cleared out within 10 minutes. Early Sunday morning at 0456 hours, Engine 671 was alerted for a vehicle accident stand-by on Hempland Road. Engine 671 and Lt 671 (Horn) arrived to find a vehicle that had run off the roadway and struck a propane tank. The crew from Engine 671 secured a water supply and deployed a hand line for protection, while the police department searched for the driver. The tank was secured and crews stood by until the vehicle was towed, with the assignment being cleared out in 45 minutes.
