The morning started off with Truck 67-R being alerted to assist Company 715 (Mountville) with a fire alarm on Columbia Avenue. Units from 715 arrived and confirmed burnt food, placing the assignment available. Then at 1033 hours; units from Companies 68 (West Lancaster), 66 (Lancaster Twp), 65 (Millersville), 84 (Susquehanna #4), and 67 were alerted to the 600 Bermuda Road for a house on fire. Truck 67-R staffed with four was advised of a smoke filled basement from an unknown source. Chief 68 arrived and reported smoke from all sides of the structure. The crews from 68 and 67 traced the source back to a malfunctioning furnace with no extension. Crews remained on scene for ventilation and cleared at 1122 hours.
